design beauty. dance reality. create mystery.

Designer and Seamstress for Renee Kurz Designs, Dance Educator at John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls' High School, Modern Dance Performer and Choreographer...

All of who I am and what I do is about compassion and beauty.  Why?  Because I believe beauty will save the world.  Discovering true beauty demands a relationship, and I enter that relationship through the dances I dance and the clothes I create… through the people I meet and those whom I learn from.  All to enter the life and passion of the one I am serving with my art and my presence… to love their beauty and to spread compassion through the flame of love.

A bit of my story...

I grew up in Arkansas, the oldest daughter of two horticulturists, where I was introduced to beauty and the arts at a young age.  My mother taught me to sew and had the intuition to put me in dance classes.  At the time she had no idea that those two 'hobbies' would become my life.  I graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance and a minor in Fashion Design.  New York City became my next home where I taught at a private dance school, performed with modern dance companies, and worked as a freelance costume designer.  It was on the streets of New York that God attracted my heart more to Himself.  I heard the cry of so many people thirsting for love and knew I was called to respond through a greater gift of myself to Love itself.  My response led me to South India, where I was a missionary with Heart's Home for 18 months.  There on the dusty streets of India, I discovered more about who God made me to be…  a witness to His Love and Mercy… to be nothing but a heart in the Heart of Jesus receiving all the laughs and cries that arrive at my door.  Heart's Home was my formation to live this witness of a lover of God and to be a living expression of the Father's love through my dance and craft.  Philadelphia is now where my heart meets home… a home in much need of renewal and light.  Join me in being one to quench the thirst of Jesus on the Cross… thirsting for love.

"Beauty is the experimental proof that incarnation is possible."
